Emergency Phone System

EMERGENCY PHONE SYSTEM PROCEDURES

Keep this general information near your phone for use of our emergency phone system.
We will be able to notify all households and parents by phone within minutes of an emergency or unplanned event that causes early dismissal, school cancellation or late start.  We will also use it for non-emergency information updates, i.e. special events.
We will try to make these calls after 5:00 p.m. if possible.
This phone guide is also on the website under Contact/General Info.

Here is some specific information you should know:
Caller ID
The Call ID will display (818) 363-5515, which is the main
number for St. Euphrasia School.
Live Answer
There is a short pause at the beginning of the message, usually just a few seconds.  Answer your phone as you normally would;  say “Hello” and hold for the message to begin.  Multiple “hello’s” will delay the message.  Inform all family members of this process who may answer your phone.
Answering Machines
The system will detect that your machine has answered and will play the recording to your machine.  The maximum number of rings before hang-up is five.  Make sure your machine answers after four rings or you may miss the message.
Message Repeat
At the end of the message you will be prompted to ‘Press One’ to hear the message again.  This is very helpful when a child answers the phone & hands it to a parent, who can then ‘repeat’ the message in its entirety.
Cell Phones
If your cell phone is not answered, your phone may show a “Missed Call” from the school’s phone number.  If you see the school number 818-363-5515, you need to listen to the message that is left.
Missed Messages
See the school website at   steuphrasiaschool.org
The exact phone message will be placed on the website under  Front Page News.   Do NOT call the school. In the event of an emergency we will need to keep all the phone lines open.  Room Parents can be called also for info.

The service calls all listed phone numbers in our parent contact list and delivers a recorded message from a school administrator.   The service will deliver the message to both live answer & answering machines.   “No answers & busies” will be retried twice in 15 minute intervals.   Cell phones will show “missed call”, so listen to the message left.

IF YOU DID NOT GET THE MESSAGE, DO NOT CALL THE SCHOOL.

You will need to  CHECK THE WEBSITE  for the information at
steuphrasiaschool.org.    See the FRONT PAGE NEWS for the same message.
In the event of an emergency we will need to keep all phone lines open.
Thank you!

We will also report school closings due to weather, smog or fire on
KTLA , NBC, CBS, ABC AND KNX1070 RADIO
